DHAAL means a shield, and invincible armour, a protection. A question, who protects whom?

Answer... mother protects her child, brother protects his sibling, man protects his woman, businessman protects business, professional protects his profession, defence lawyer protects his client whether guilty or not, is it right or wrong?

Who decides ? You and me, every body the human race.

DHAAL IS A FILM THAT WILL HELP YOU DECIDE.

Varun Saxena (Vinod Khanna) is an honest police officer who is lucky to have a caring wife and an adorable six year old son. To top all these he has a friend in Suraj (Sunil Shetty). Life could not have been better for Varun. There is one problem that Varun can not understand is the system that despite police officers risking their lives to arrest violent criminals, hot shot defence lawyers of the world get them back on the streets either on bail or by finding loopholes in the legal system of the country. Suraj, a law student who had always dreamt of becoming defence lawyer eventually changes his mind and decides to work against the defence, as a public prosecutor. This change is brought by Varun who makes Suraj realise the need for lawyers to support police and not criminals.

One day Varun Saxena faces defeat in the courtroom at the hands of one of the top most defence lawyers of the country, Indrajeet Diwan (Danny Denzongpa), who is basically working for one of the biggest criminals of the country, Pilot Baba (Amrish Puri), Suraj takes upon himself to defeat Diwan in court and to stand by his friend Varun. The day he does that all he wants in return from Varun is a party.

Suraj ultimately wins the case. Varun stands by his word and takes Suraj to a restaurant for well deserved treat. Two victorious friends celebrate their victory with a drink. Varun orders the best whisky that is available.
